Paris gardens provide a good opportunity to relax in the heart of the city, close to major tourism attractions.

Tuileries Gardens Imprimer
Jardin des Tuileries, Paris, FranceTuileries Garden (jardins des Tuileries in French) is an area of 25 hectares, between the Louvre museum and Place de la Concorde. It was designed by the royal gardener Le Nôtre.

It’s a very relaxing place, bordered by illustrious buildings (such as the Orangery and the Musée du Jeu de Paume). It's worth having a walk and watching the children play with the small boats that are for hire.

Usually open everyday, from 9am to sunset.
Best time to relax: week days before 4p.m.

Jardins du Luxembourg Imprimer

Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris, France “Jardins du Luxembourg”, the most famous and most typical of the Paris gardens. This is one of the favourite quiet places of Parisians, a 25-hectare oasis in the heart of Paris. While there, do not miss Luxembourg Palace, built in the 17th century. Except for sunny Sundays, you'll be sure to find a chair facing the ornamental lake or tennis courts, or hidden beside a shrub.

Best time to relax: week days before 4p.m.

Buttes Chaumont Imprimer
Buttes Chaumont, Paris, France Buttes Chaumont is quite different from famous Luxembourg or Tuileries gardens.

It's in a common district (arrondissement) of east Paris (19th arrondissement), wilder and less formal than the previous ones.

It's a very beautiful combination of lake, waterfall, botanic gardens and hills, and is a favourite area of various birds.


Usually open everyday, from 7am to 9pm

La coulée verte Imprimer

Coulee Verte, Paris, France The “promenade plantée”, also known as “coulée verte” is a 4.5km long elevated park, constructed on an old railway viaduc. It runs from the Opéra Bastille to the “Bois de Vincennes” (east side of Paris). The walk lasts about one hour, and is a nice opportunity to walk in flowers gardens, and appreciate the city from a different perspective.

The railway viaduc is now ihabited by gret art galleries.

On the south-east of the place runs Daumesnil Street.
Fifty meters from Opéra Bastille, you’ll find stairs on the left edge.
