Paris City Guide

Paris by bike Imprimer
Enjoy the freedom of cycling in Paris!

Cycling is a very nice way to discover Paris. You can quickly ride from Notre Dame Cathedral to Louvre museum, from Le Marais district to Montmartre hill… and also move to less touristy area like going along Ourcq canal. Ok, some districts are not really made for bikers…
You should avoid departments stores area (Paris 9th) and the Champs Elysées Avenue! Except that, cycling in Paris is great, especially by night!

Velib'

Bicycles for rent all around Paris. For short distances.
Pick up anywhere, drop off anywhere!

Paris bike rental: Velib'Velib' is a new system of self service “bike rental”, launched by Paris City in August 2007.

Each 300 meters, you can pick up a bike from a “Velib' station” and drop it off to another one. Each station has a terminal where you can collect a bike using your credit card on screen control.

Good news, English version is available Smile.

First of all, you have to choose between three ways of subscription: 1-day or 7-day or year tickets. A 1-day ticket allows you to collect a bike as many times as you want, each time 30 min max, for €1. If you don’t drop off your bike 30 minutes later in another Velib station, the additional half hour will be debited from your credit card (€1). A 7-day ticket costs €5. Year pass is only for France residents.

More about how to use it.

Velib rental is made for short distances. If you need a bike for more than two hours, it will be very expensive. Then you should use "Roue Libre".
